Sims 3 The Wards (part 31)

Miles decides to treat Zawadi to an early dinner after their day at the park.  They walk down the street to Hogan’s Deep Sea Diner.
Zawadi is excited to spend this time with her dad.  Even better, she gets to eat dinner in a ship.
At home, Sephora spends time working on developing her painting skill.  She stands back and looks over her work, shaking her head.  “Not so good,” she says out loud.
Miles leaves the diner, realizing that he has forgotten something very important.
He and Zawadi hop on their bikes rushing home; Miles cursing himself as he pedals harder.
Miles walks into the house apologizing.  “Babe, I’m so sorry. I forgot your birthday!”

Sephora places her hands over her eyes, close to tears.  “No! Please don’t remind me. I’m getting old!”
“You’ll always be beautiful,” Miles says grabbing Sephora into a kiss,  “Happy birthday!”
Miles surprises Sephora with an eco friendly planter for the living room.  “Now you have a garden indoors,” he announces.

“I love it!” Sephora answers.
Sephora loves her beautiful new planter.  It creates a nice divider between the living room and kitchen.
Sephora pulls out her noise maker in celebration of her birthday.
She is happy to be spending her birthday with the two people that she adores the most.
Sephora ages up.
Zawadi is tired after her long day.  She gets into bed.
Miles sits down to practice on his keyboard…
…while Sephora goes into their bedroom and changes her look in honor of her birthday.
Right before bed, Sephora realizes that she has not eaten.
Her first food choice has spoiled, so she throws it out.
Instead she enjoys a whole container of organic ice cream.

Sims 3 The Wards (part 30)

Miles is awakened by his cell phone.  He climbs out of bed with drowsiness still clinging to him.
“Hello,” he answers in a groggy sleep filled voice.

“Miles?  Sorry to wake you!  This is Patty.  I was here at the park where we usually practice, when I saw your daughter.  I thought you might have been here somewhere, but when I didn’t see you, I thought I’d give you a call to make sure you knew she was here.”
“Are you sure it’s Zawadi?  She should still be here in bed.”

“Yep, I’m sure.  She has her mother’s face and your eyes.”
Miles thanks Patty and hangs up.  He lets out a loud sigh as he stares out of the window.  The joys of fatherhood, he thinks to himself.
Miles slips on his clothes and gets ready to leave and find Zawadi.  Sephora hears him moving around the room and wakes up as he leaves the bedroom.
Sephora, not knowing what is going on, walks to the refrigerator to grab breakfast.  Zawadi actually slept in for a change, she thinks to herself, assuming that Zawadi is still in bed.
Miles leaves the bathroom and spots Sephora eating breakfast.
“Zawadi is at the park, I’m going to get her,” Miles announces as he walks toward the front door.

“What?” Sephora asks between bites, not sure she heard right.
Sure enough, Zawadi is at the park on the swings.  After she left the underground mausoleum, she decided that the park was a less scary place to be.
Suddenly Miles appears.  Zawadi gives him a big smile, hoping that it will distract him from being angry with her.
She waits expectantly for Miles to yell or be angry, but he doesn’t say anything.  He just stands next to the swing and stretches the rest of his fatigue away.
Miles not saying anything is more disturbing to Zawadi than his yelling would have been.  She’s not sure what to expect.
Zawadi faces her dad.  “I’m sorry daddy,” she says rubbing tears away before they have a chance to fall.
“It’s ok baby,” He says giving her a big hug.  “Thanks for admitting that you were wrong.”
“Now are you here to swing or just stand around with tears in your eyes?” Miles says in a light voice.
“Swing!” Zawadi says, jumping back on.  Miles gives her a big push.
Zawadi sails into the sky, happy to be getting the attention that she was desperately searching for.

Sims 3 The Wards (part 29)

Zawadi is up early the next day.  She hopes more than anything that something exciting happens.
Sephora and Miles are still tired after partying the night away at Club DYTO.  They spend Sunday sleeping in.
The house is too quiet as Zawadi leaves the bathroom after taking her shower.  She hoped that her mom and dad would be up so that one of them could take her to the park.
She eats toast and jelly hoping that her mom and dad will be up soon.
After a few hours, they are still not up.  Zawadi doesn’t want to spend time in the house, but unless she can get permission to leave, she has no choice.
“Mom?” Zawadi calls.

“Hmm,” Sephora mumbles in her sleep.
“Mom, can I go to the park?” Zawadi asks although she knows that Sephora isn’t really awake.

“Uh huh,” Sephora answers in her sleep.
Zawadi realizes that she shouldn’t wake her parents while they are sleeping.  She also knows that her mother’s mumbles are not confirmation that she has permission to leave the house…
…but Zawadi feels that she has just enough wiggle room to get away with going to the park on her own.
The island is quiet on this clear, calm Sunday morning.  Zawadi hops on her bike and rides against the breeze.
There is an area of the island that she has heard about at school.  Apparently there is an underground passage that kids at school sometimes claim to have explored.  Zawadi wants to have a story to tell, so she decides that she will explore it as well.
As she gets closer, she begins to have second thoughts.  “I could really get in trouble,” she says quietly to herself.
Zawadi stops and gets off of her bike when she arrives at a cliff at the edge of the island.  She is pretty far from home and her heart beats with fear and excitement as she runs closer and closer toward potential adventure combined with big trouble.
She is not quite sure where to find the secret passage, but according to the kids at school, it is in the middle of some bushes and brush designed to conceal the entrance.
Zawadi finds stairs leading underground.  As she stares down at the dark room below, she almost changes her mind and goes back home.  However, the only thing waiting for her there is loneliness and boredom.
Zawadi stares down once again. From here, the darkness looks endless like a pit. She picks up a pebble and throws it down the stairs, listening for it to hit the ground. It’s not long before she hears the pebble.
Zawadi takes one step at a time.  When she gets to the middle of the staircase, she realizes that there is light at the bottom.
This gives her enough confidence to continue descending.
Finally she can see the source of the light; a lone candle in the middle of a brick path.  Zawadi walks slowly as she looks around.  She can hear her footsteps echo as they hit the brick floor.  She wants to call out, but she is afraid of what may answer.
Zawadi rounds a corner and spots a figure.  Her breathe catches in her chest, but she releases it when she realizes that he is a real man, not a ghost or monster.
Again she looks around and sees strange vases with tops sitting on the floor.  What type of flower goes in those? She asks herself.
Suddenly the man in the passage begins to wail loudly.  Zawadi is afraid.  Her body automatically goes into flight response and she begins to run without thinking.
She continues running until she reaches the staircase.  What would make a grown man cry like that?  Zawadi is curious, but not curious enough to go and find out.
As fast as her legs can take her, she climbs the stairs.  Now she has her own mini exploration story to tell the kids at school.
