Sims 3: The Deans (part 33)

While Tania attempts to pull herself together, Tatiana answers the door to greet the bartender who stopped by to stock the bar with nectar for the wedding.

“So are you the bride to be?” He asks with a smile.

Tatiana laughs at his little joke, “Of course not,” she says between chuckles.  She proceeds to pull out her wallet to show him pictures of Tania,  “My beautiful granddaughter is the bride.”

The backyard is ready for the ceremony. 

The wedding arch and chairs are set up in a shady spot, waiting for the guests to arrive.

Tania, finally dressed in her wedding gown, stands in front of her nectar collection wondering to herself whether or not drinking a large glass of nectar would be a good idea.

Bianca, the mother of the bride, arrives a little early.

George Jr. walks up to the front door, but pauses and takes a deep breath.  Today his only daughter is marrying.  Never one to show his emotions, he silently counts to ten to help stop the tears that threaten to overflow his eyes.

Just as Tania makes the decision to take that drink, her mother Bianca interrupts the process.

“What are you doing Tania?”  Bianca says when she sees Tania reaching for a bottle.

“Uh…just making sure the bartender didn’t forget to stock the best wines,” Tania lies.

Bianca can see past Tania’s lie.  After smelling nectar on her several times, Bianca has suspected that Tania may have a drinking problem for a while, but kept silent.  

 “You don’t need that Tania.  You’re getting ready to marry the love of your life.  You may want to be sober as you do that,” her mother gently chides. 


Tania holds her head down in shame.

“By the way…you look gorgeous,” Bianca says in a pride filled voice.

Tania looks her mother in the eyes, “Thank you,” she mouths, afraid of the tears that would escape if she attempted to say it out loud.

Antwain’s best friend Ralph arrives and spots Antwain as he stands by nervously.

“Everything looks great,” Ralph compliments attempting to ease his friend’s anxiety.

George Jr. allows a few tears to escape in private.  He loves his daughter so much and realizes that he’s never been very good at expressing that.

Tania sneaks up on him and catches him during his personal, emotional moment.  

 “It’s OK dad,” she says quietly.

He turns around surprised.  “Oh, I got a piece of dust in my eye,” he says, denying the tears.

“Yeah right dad,” Tania says with a knowing smile.

George Jr. chuckles,  “Truth is, I often find myself getting emotional in my old age.”

George Jr. looks away as more tears threaten to build up in his eyes.

“I love you too dad!”  Tania responds knowing exactly why her father is tearing up.

“It’s time.  You ready to do this man?” Ralph asks Antwain as the hour of he and Tania’s wedding approaches.

“Yep.  Let’s do this,” Antwain says biting his bottom lip in an attempt to calm his nerves.

“It’s time daddy,” Tania whispers.

“I love you and I’m proud of you…Antwain is a lucky man,” George Jr. says finally expressing his internal feelings.

Sims 3: The Deans (part 32)

Tatiana visits the river to do some fishing, but decides against it when her back begins to bother her.

She decides to go on a leisurely walk instead.

Before she knows it, she’s at the bar ordering a drink.

As she grabs her glass, she thinks back to her conversation with Tania; praying that Tania follows her advice about exhuming  George III’s body and having it buried at the cemetery. It’s the only way that Tania will let George III’s spirit finally rest in peace.

Meanwhile, Tania is standing outside her parents’ home. 

Her father George Jr. let’s her in.  “What’s going on Tania?  You’re not having second thoughts about marrying Antwain are you?” He asks, concerned about his daughter.

“No,” Tania answers.  “I just wanted to talk to mom for a moment.”

Bianca walks over.  “Is everything ok with mom and the wedding?” She asks, also concerned.

“All of that is fine.  Mom…I’ve been seeing George III,” Tania answers.

Bianca is not sure whether Tania is joking or not.

“How do you mean?” Bianca asks to make sure she heard right.

“His spirit has been haunting my house,” Tania answers.

Bianca has a slight smile on her face, but it’s there to hide her concern.  As much as she would love to see her son again, she knows that it can’t be a good thing that his spirit is hanging around.

“Gran says that I should move his body to the cemetery, but part of me doesn’t want to.”

“What do you think mom?”


Bianca takes a moment to ponder the question, before responding.  Finally she answers, ”Gran is right.”


Tania hangs her head because it’s not the answer that she’s looking for.  She thought her mom would be happy that George III’s spirit is around watching over them.

“OK,” Tania answers attempting to keep her emotions under control; unsure if she can say goodbye to her brother all over again.

Tatiana is the first one up the next morning; the morning of Tania and Antwain’s wedding.

She cleans up the mess left by the broken dishwasher before calling a repairman to repair it.

She takes a look around to make sure everything is in order for her granddaughter’s wedding.

Antwain is also up early, trying hard to suppress his nervousness.  Today is the day he marries the love of his life.

However, Tania is the most nervous this morning.

Her stomach is queasy with anxiety.

She holds her hand up and takes a look at her ring.  “I can’t believe today is the day,” she says out loud.

Naming Your Sims

You just spent a ton of time creating the perfect Sim... or your two favorite Sims just became parents for the first time.  Now you have to name that perfect Sim or Sim baby.  Where do you turn?  Of course there are a ton of baby naming websites that you can turn to, but I believe it is a lot easier to have a nice list right next to you while you are playing your Sims, Sims 2 or Sims 3 game.

Sims 3: The Deans (part 31)

Tania wakes the next morning pleased to see Antwain in the bed next to her.  At least he came home last night, she smiles to herself.

As she walks downstairs, she can feel that something is not right.

It takes her a few moments to figure out what it is.  As she walks toward the kitchen, she can hear the shower in the downstairs bathroom.  Her grandmother has her own bathroom next to her bedroom and Antwain is still in bed.  Who could be in the shower?

Maybe Antwain was so drunk last night that he showered and forgot to turn off the water, she rationalizes to herself. Still her hands shake with fear as she opens the bathroom door and steps inside.

At first, she sees only steam and she lets out a breathe of relief.  Suddenly the ghost of George III appears.

Tania is taken aback as George III steps out of the shower and ghostly clothing appears to cover his nudeness.

He turns and waves his hands adamantly, his face masked in anger and embarrassment, just like it used to be when she accidentally walked in on him in the bathroom when he was still alive.

Tania is so emotional from seeing him that she doesn’t leave immediately.  She just stands and stares; happy that he is standing there.

Finally it dawns on her that he wants her to leave so that he can compose himself.  She reluctantly complies.

She runs out of the bathroom through the laundry room.  Please don’t leave! She begs internally, I want to talk to you!

Moments later, Tatiana walks downstairs after hearing Tania’s voice. “You’re welcomed to stick around,” Tania says speaking to George III.

She looks over to see who Tania is speaking to and sees the ghost of George III, her beloved grandson.

“Will you come to my wedding?  You can’t miss that!” Tania continues.

Tatiana is not shocked that Tania is talking to a ghost, nor is she afraid.

“Are you sure you have to go?  I want you to stay with me,”  Tania says in an emotion filled, begging voice.

Tatiana also lost a brother at a young age and she too often saw his ghost present in their childhood home when she was young.

Still… she’s concerned.

As George III’s ghost disappears, Tania is not pleased to see that her grandmother has witnessed this private moment and believes that her grandmother’s presence made George III’s spirit leave.

Just as Tania guessed, Tatiana wants to talk to her about what she witnessed.

“How long has he been around?” Tatiana begins.

“Just a few days,” Tania answers with hesitation.

“Did I ever tell you that I lost a brother at a young age?” Tatiana asks.

“Yes, Great Uncle Dimitri, right?”

“Yes…but I never told you that he used to visit me.”

“He doesn’t anymore?” Tania asks.

“No Tania. I had to let him go and you need to do the same.”

“I can’t do that Gran.  I miss him too much.  I don’t want him to leave me!”  Tania cannot stop the tears as she pleads.

Tatiana smiles a knowing smile, “It’s a hard to thing to do, but Tania…he’s already gone.  What you are seeing is not really him.  You cannot allow yourself to get attached to a spirit.”

“I don’t know how Gran.  There’s so many things I didn’t get to say to him,” Tania says as Tatiana heads to the kitchen.

Tania follows her to the kitchen and watches silently as she pulls leftovers out of the refrigerator and places them on the table.

With a sigh, Tatiana continues, “Tania, you’re going to have to move his body.  He should be at the cemetery where he can rest in peace.  Do you want your future children raised in a haunted house?”

Tatiana finishes her meal and leaves the kitchen to prepare for the rest of her day.  Tania watches her.  Just when she is out of earshot, Tania finally responds, “I can’t Gran.”

Desperate for fresh air, Tania heads downtown to take pictures.  As she arrives in town, she breaks down in tears.  As much as she wants to deny the truth, she knows that her grandmother is right…

…she’s going to have to let George III go.
