Zawadi finishes up dinner
and walks into her bedroom just as her phone rings. Checking her caller ID, she sees that it’s
Mitchell calling.
As
soon as she answers the phone, Mitchell’s excited voice drowns out her
greeting. “Michael agreed to attend the
local high school!” He says, just short
of shouting.
“You’re attending school with me?” Zawadi asks just to be sure.
“Yep! See you tomorrow!” Mitchells says. Zawadi’s heart flutters at the news.

Meanwhile,
Sephora and Miles sit down
to enjoy leftovers.
“I think our daughter is in love,” Miles announces.
“I think our daughter is in love,” Miles announces.
“What?” Sephora asks, although she heard exactly what Miles said. “What…how do you know?”
“She
told me that the prom was coming up. I
asked her about a date and it was written all over her face,” Miles explains.
“Oh
God!” Sephora sighs, not ready to
deal with Zawadi
dating.
“Exactly,” Miles mumbles, totally relating to Sephora’s dismay.

Sephora steps outside to
bring in the freshly dried laundry and to think. Prom? Dating? How could all of this be happening so fast? She asks herself.
Meanwhile,
Zawadi lies in bed, just
about to fall asleep, content that she’ll get to see Mitchell at school
tomorrow.
That
night in bed, Sephora and Miles lie awake
chatting. “So what do we do about this
prom?” Miles asks.
Sephora thinks for a moment before answering.

“We’re
going to have to allow ourselves to grow up as parents, because she’s growing
up whether we do or not.”
“Yeah, but we’re talking about boys here. Is she ready to deal with the emotions that comes along with that?”
“Yeah, but we’re talking about boys here. Is she ready to deal with the emotions that comes along with that?”
“We’re
just going to have to be her guide…you know, show her what true love looks
like,” Sephora answers
thoughtfully.
“But
how do we do that?”
“Well…” Sephora says in a suggestive tone.
“Oh no…she doesn’t need to know about that,” Miles says responding to Sephora’s tone.

She
moves over and cuddles closer to Miles and giggles, “That’s not what I mean…besides I think we’ve done a
good job of showing her how to love so far.”
“Well…maybe you can show me again, just so I can be sure,” Miles says seductively.

Miles
and Sephora undress and slide
under the covers…
Early
the next morning, Dazzle makes her way into Zawadi’s bedroom.
She
entertains herself by growling noisily and chewing on Zawadi’s bedroom rug.
Dazzle’s
noisy play, wakes Zawadi.
Zawadi spots Dazzle tearing
at the rug. “Stop Dazzle!” She scolds in
a firm voice. Dazzle growls softly.
Dazzle
runs outside after being scolded and chews on her dog bone instead.
By
the time the school bus arrives, Zawadi is wide awake.
She runs to the bus excited to see Mitchell again at school.
She
sits in her seat, willing the bus driver to drive faster. She wants to be the first face that Mitchell
and Michael sees as they enter the school.
As
usual, the bus creeps along. Zawadi sits back in her
seat feeling defeated. Surely she’ll
miss them as they arrive at school. But,
maybe they’ll share a class.
The
bus pulls up at school. Zawadi hops out of her seat
and hurries into the building, looking for her new friends as they arrive on
their first day of school.
