Destiny leaves work and decides to skip the clubs tonight. She makes her way to the gym instead.
Meanwhile, Drake leaves work stressed out and anxious because he has yet to receive a raise. He has to find a way to unwind a little.
Drake wants to avoid his usual hang-out spot, the sports bar close to the bookstore, so he heads to the subway instead.
He studies the map for a moment to find the closet subway stop to get to Waylon’s Haunt, a dive bar located in an old warehouse across town.
He exits the subway and discovers that he still has a ways to go. This is a shady part of town, so he elects to take a taxi rather than risk walking.
The beautiful city lights mesmerize him, but he cannot help but worry what this big city will do to his relationship with Destiny. They have been on very shaky ground since moving to Bridgeport.
Just thinking about it almost makes him want to tell the cabby to take him home. But what if Destiny’s not home when I get there? Drake asks himself. To avoid waiting around for her all night, he opts to go ahead to the bar.
The taxi pulls up in front of the bar. The place looks deserted.
Drake goes inside anyway. He actually prefers a quiet night alone, rather than hanging out at a crowded bar.
The shuffleboard table has his attention. Drake takes this opportunity to practice his shuffleboard skills. If he gets pretty good, maybe he can hustle people on the side for extra money.
Drake grabs the puck and gently slides it down the table.
Hm, I may actually be pretty good at this, Drake says to himself after scoring big after only a few tries.
Drake continues his game alone in the empty bar.
With his mind on the game, his mind only wonders about Destiny and her where-a-bouts every once in a while.
Destiny takes a seat at a weight bench next to a full length window with a gorgeous view of the city.
She quickly discovers that weights may not be her thing as she struggles to complete her butterfly presses.
She lies on her back to attempt a few bench presses.
She manages to get one weak, wobbly set down before she gives up.
Maybe I’m just too tired, she thinks to herself yawning.
Destiny steps back in the elevator and heads home, hoping that Drake is no longer mad at her.
