It’s a bittersweet morning for Rena. In a few hours she’s scheduled to complete an interior design project for her first client. However, this means leaving Chelsea and Candy home with Sarah for the first time.
She can hardly eat her breakfast thinking about the things that can go wrong with her first project. She wonders if her work will be good enough.
With a few tears in her eyes, she heads upstairs to spend a bit of time kissing her babies. “Mama’s going to miss you,” she whispers in their little ears.
Then she heads into Gwen’s old room, that has been converted to an office, to work on a sketch for her client.
Spencer is also on his way to work. Up until now, he has been so focused on his own career that he hasn’t thought much about what things will be like with Rena also working. He hopes that Sarah can handle caring for the children on top of completing her household chores.
Rena’s design is complete. She packs it up and gets ready to meet her client.
She sneaks by baby Candy to avoid tears involved in saying goodbye; from both herself and the baby.
Anxiously, she heads to her first client project.
Rena pulls up in front of a beautiful modern home. Her clients’ teenage daughter greets her outside. Rena’s assignment is to convert the teen’s “little girl” room into a teen room with a limited budget.
Hours later, Rena presents the client with her finished work.
She waits outside while the client’s daughter checks out her new room.
The client’s daughter seems to be pleased with Rena’s work.
However, the client appears to be a little upset. “Have I done something wrong?” Rena asks.
“No, it’s not you. I just don’t think my husband will be pleased that I splurged a little on the new room.”
“Well, I think that once he sees it, it’ll be worth it,” Rena says. “Are you ready to take a look?”
Rena follows the client inside to check out the redecorated bedroom.
“I love it!” she says as she walks out of the room.
“I believe that your husband will also,” Rena offers.
Rena is overjoyed that her first client loves her work, but now she’s ready to head home and kiss her babies.
