Sims 3 The Wards (part 21)

The next morning, Miles contacts the local cemetery to have Mort’s body exhumed and  placed in a final resting place.
Miles heeds Dr. Spright’s advice and heads to the cemetery to place Mort’s headstone there himself.  According to the Dr., this is the only way to ensure that Mort’s spirit will stay away from the Ward’s property.
Miles can’t help but feel a bit bothered by the fact that he has to have Mort’s body dug up from what was supposed to be a place of rest, but he knows that protecting his family is his first priority.  He just hopes that Mort takes the hint and stays away for good.
The cemetery is a long bike ride away, on the other side of the island.  Miles takes comfort in this; knowing that Mort’s spirit would have to travel a long way to return to the Ward home.
A statue of death himself stands tall in the middle of the cemetery - probably to keep wayward spirits from wandering too far from their gravesites …at least that is what Miles hopes he’s been placed there to do.
Miles locates the spot where Mort’s body will be placed.  It’s a nice shady spot overlooking the ocean.  Miles believes that Mort will be pleased with this location.  Maybe Mort’s spirit can find some ghostly pals to hang out with.
Earlier Miles spoke with the cemetery clerk about having Mort’s epitaph changed to read, Dear Mort Gauge, may you rest in peace.  Miles feels that this is very appropriate considering the whole situation.
Miles pauses to say a short prayer for Mort’s soul.  Then he thanks Mort for allowing him and his family to reside in his formal residence that he obviously loved a lot.
Miles turns to leave the cemetery, but pauses at the statue of death.
“Please keep Mort’s spirit safe and make sure he’s happy here, so he doesn’t return to haunt my family,” Miles says to the statue.  He feels odd speaking to the statue, but when he thinks about it, it can’t be any worse than speaking to a ghost.
At home, Sephora is out in her garden.  Her apple tree has given all that it could give and now stands barren. This makes Sephora sad enough to shed a tear.
Sephora always feels depressed when she comes across a dead tree; especially one that has given so much of itself.
She has learned all she could from her sculpturing pedestal and begins to pursue a new art medium - painting.
Miles stops to check the mailbox on his return from the cemetery.
Inside is a package addressed to Sephora.
It is a certificate congratulating Sephora for reaching level 10 in sculpting.  Miles places it where he’s sure that she’ll see it.
A while later, Sephora is outside painting when she hears guitar music coming from the house.
Miles has called Patti over for their first rehearsal as the “Skinny Dippers.”
Patti is playing just as well as she did in the park.  Miles cannot wait until they begin to get gigs at some of the clubs in town.
Sephora is sure that she can hear more than one guitar playing, so she puts down her paints and enters the house to check it out.
Sephora sees Patti for the first time.  “Who is this woman and why is she here in my house?” Sephora wonders to herself.
Sephora glares at Miles’ back as she enters further into the room.  Why didn’t Miles introduce his friend before beginning his little jam session?
Sephora walks around Patti and Miles.  Patti looks up, but Miles doesn’t as if he still has not seen Sephora.
Sephora walks towards the bathroom and Miles finally sees her.  He can tell from her posture and her stride that she is not OK with Patti being here.  Sephora enters the bathroom and pretends to use it; waiting for a break in the song to come back out and find out what’s going on.
Miles and Patti finish their song and the music stops.  Sephora walks straight faced past Miles, over to Patti before putting on her most hospitable pseudo smile and introduces herself.
