Sims 3 The Wards (part 22)

“Can I speak with you outside?”  Sephora calmly asks after introducing herself to Patti.
Sephora walks outside and waits for Miles to join her. “Why would Miles bring this woman to our house?” Sephora does not like the way her insecurities are making her feel.
What’s going on?”  She wonders as anxiety begins to creep up on her.
Miles struts out with an innocent look on his face.  This only makes Sephora more suspicious.  She gets straight to the point. “What’s going on Miles?”
“What do you mean?”  Miles asks as if nothing is unusual.

“Don’t act dumb Miles.  Who is that and why is she in our home?”
“Who?  Patti?”  Miles asks elevating Sephora’s insecurities.

“No Miles, the woman on the moon…of course Patti!  Why is she here, you obviously don’t work with her?”
“Oh… I’ve been intending to tell you that Patti and I have formed a band.”

“You’ve been intending to tell me?  Since when do you forget to tell someone something like that?  How long has this been going on?”
Sephora, I was going to tell you, but I’ve been so caught up with the whole haunted house thing.  Patti and I started the band a few days ago.” Sephora counts silently to herself in an attempt to restrain herself.

Calmly she asks, “So what’s the name of this so called band?”
“Huh?”  Miles asks stupidly trying to avoid the question.

“WHAT’S THE NAME OF THE BAND MILES!”  Sephora explodes. She rarely looses her temper, but Miles’ avoidance is pushing her buttons.
Miles realizes that it would be best to just come out with the truth.  “The band is called the ‘Skinny Dippers’.”

“The what…the ‘SKINNY DIPPERS’!  You’re in a band with another woman and it’s called the ‘Skinny Dippers!’”  Sephora cannot believe what she is hearing.
“I thought you would be OK with it.”  Miles says.  Right now he would rather face another ghost than to talk to his angry wife.

“I’m supposed to be OK with my husband, in a group with a gorgeous woman called the freaking ‘Skinny Dippers’!”
Sephora stares at Miles wondering how he has the audacity to think she would be OK with all of this. “You must think I’m crazy…or a fool.”
Now it’s Miles’ turn to be angry.  “No, I thought you were my supportive wife who trusts her husband.”

Sephora doesn’t have a response for this.
Sephora, when I went into the music business, you knew that I would be dealing with women.  Did you think that all my fans would be men?  I honestly thought that you had enough trust in me to be ok with starting a band with, yes…a woman.”
Sephora gets her voice back.  “Miles, it’s not fair to turn this back on me.  You should have talked to me about this.  You never mentioned starting a band.  Why let me find out like this?
I’m sorry if it sounds like I don’t trust you, but how was I supposed to react when you just show up at our house with a woman and tell me you’re in a band? That was not a trustworthy thing to do.”
Miles doesn’t respond right away.  He is hurt by Sephora’s words. “So you don’t trust me?”  Miles says barely above a whisper.
“I don’t know Miles.”  Sephora answers honestly.  “I don’t think I’m OK with this.”

Miles opens his mouth to react, but nothing comes out.  He cannot believe that Sephora doesn’t know if she trusts him.
“Why?  What have I done to make you doubt me?”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you Miles.  I don’t like the deception in all of this.  You should have told me.”
Miles just stares, so Sephora continues, “Come on Miles, you have to see my point of view.  I just so happen to walk into the house and see you in there with another woman-”
Miles interrupts her, “I’m really ashamed of you right now SephoraI never thought of you as being insecure, but that’s what you are right now.  I wasn’t in the house kissing another woman…we weren’t even talking.  I was playing guitar with my band member…nothing more, nothing less.”
Sephora actually feels ashamed because Miles is right.  She is being insecure and she doesn’t like it.
“When I asked Patti to start this band with me, the first thing she did was ask how you would feel about it.  I told her that you were supportive and would be fine with it.  Instead I get this.  I’m embarrassed to even face Patti now, because she was right.”
Sephora can feel tears forming, but she refuses to let them fall.  With all her might she holds them in.
Miles continues his tirade, “If we are going to have this discussion every time I make a decision about my career, then I might as well give it all up now, because it’s not going to work.  I’m going to leave it up to you.”
Miles finally notices how bad Sephora is feeling.  He wants to comfort her and let her know that it’s OK, but he is still angry and embarrassed by her reaction.
When she doesn’t say anything after a while, he goes on.  “Well, if you’re done with your accusations, than I’m going to take my ‘band’ to the park and continue our practice.”
Miles walks away in anger and Sephora feeling defeated returns to the house to check on Zawadi.
