Sims 3 The Wards (part 9)

Sephora continues working on her first ice sculpture.  As she’s working, Miles’ boss Juan shows up at the house.  He is amazed by Sephora’s talent.
Miles comes out to greet his boss.  He is surprised that Juan has stopped by.
Miles and Juan have an awkward moment when Juan walks in on Miles while he’s on the toilet.  Juan walks out amused at Miles’ embarrassment.
Juan finishes in the bathroom and joins Juan in the living room.  Juan is in the process of playing his guitar and Miles watches hoping to pick up a few pointers.
Miles takes an opportunity to talk to Juan about some new music that he’s picked up at the bookstore.
Outside, Sephora feels the baby kick.  She stops working, realizing that she hasn’t eaten anything.
Miles complains to Juan about him walking in on Miles while he was on the toilet.  Juan is amused by the whole conversation.
Miles proceeds to mooch a few dollars from Juan as a gift for the baby.
Juan gives it to him and congratulates Miles.
Miles thanks Juan just before Juan leaves to perform a gig at the theater.
Miles & Sephora turn in for the evening. While they are sleeping, Sephora begins to feel contractions.
Sephora gets out of bed, shocked at the level of pain she’s in.
Miles hears her cries and wakes up to see if there is anything he can do for her.
Sephora wants to deliver her baby naturally at home.  Miles panics at the idea of Sephora delivering without medical care.
Miles remembers the dream that he had of Sephora delivering the baby in pain.  This is almost like reliving it again.  He feels helpless to help her.
Sephora practices her breathing exercises and focuses on the view outside her window.
An immense contraction hits and Sephora begins to have second thoughts about a natural home birth.
Sephora counts and breathes, doing her best to make it through the pain.
Sephora is between contractions and Miles appears as if he is the one having a baby.
Another large contraction hits and Miles tells Sephora that he is going to take her to the hospital.  Sephora agrees to go.
Sephora gets dressed and starts to walk out of the door with Miles.  Then she changes her mind.  “I can do this,” she tries to assure Miles, “I just need you to calm down.”
Sephora instructs Miles to sit on the couch and coach her with her breathing.
Just when Sephora thinks that she may have made a mistake by not going to the hospital…
 …their daughter is born.
Sephora inspects her daughter and breathes a sigh of relief when she notes how healthy she is.  Zawadi Ward is born with the loves the outdoor and eccentric trait.
Miles looks at his wife with respect and admiration.  He cannot believe the pain that Sephora was able to endure.
Sephora is thrilled to have delivered a healthy baby girl and is even more grateful that Miles was right there with her.
Sephora gently lays Zawadi down in her crib.  Until they can afford to build onto the house, Zawadi will have to share a room with her parents.
Miles joins Sephora & Zawadi in the bedroom. He is happy to be here with Sephora, but deep down he knows that his feelings about children has not changed.  He loves his daughter, but has no desire to hold, feed or touch her.
Miles is determined to do his best to be a good father.  He is willing to put his feelings about children to the side and give his daughter what she needs to grow up healthy and happy.
Sephora & Miles stare at baby Zawadi for a while, both ashamed that they almost let this beautiful little girl drive them apart.  She is a gift, just as her name says she is.
Sephora decides to get as much sleep as she can while Zawadi is resting peacefully.
Miles join her.
Miles drifts to sleep with thoughts of his new baby girl on his mind; deep down slightly afraid of what the future will hold.

Sims 3 The Wards (part 8)

Miles wakes up a few hours later with cramps in his back and a crook in his neck.
Miles decides that he is tired of his own foolishness.  He is going to get in the bed with his wife.
He is happy to see that he has not caused her to loose sleep.  She actually looks pretty peaceful as he carefully climbs into bed next to her.
He is careful not to wake her, but is relieved to be in his own bed, next to his wife.
He’s not sure how Sephora will feel about him in the morning, but at least for now they can sleep in peace together.  Even if that peace only lasts til morning.
Miles slips into a dream.  He dreams that Sephora goes into labor while he is not around. Her pain in the dream is so real, that Miles can almost feel it himself.
When the baby is delivered, he discovers that it’s a little girl.  The little girl is gorgeous, just like her mother.  The thing is, the little baby can already talk & walk.
The baby walks towards Sephora.  Miles is suddenly in the dream standing between this beautiful child and his wife.  However, when the baby passes to get to Sephora, she passes through him.  He realizes that he isn’t really there.
‘Where’s my daddy?’ The baby asks Sephora. ‘He left us.  He left us because he never wanted to know you,’ Sephora answers.  Suddenly the dream skips to Miles standing on stage at the theater playing his guitar.
The thing is, every time he tries to play a chord, the sound is not like that of a guitar, but of a baby wailing and wailing, screaming ‘daddy, daddy!’ The dream fades as Miles is stirred by Sephora waking up and rising from bed.
Sephora is relieved to wake and find Miles sleeping next to her.
Sephora watches his face and notices that his sleep seems to be disturbed by a dream of some type.  She carefully makes the bed.
Sephora prays that things will be better between them when he wakes up.
Sephora goes out to her garden.  It is a beautiful peaceful day.  She hopes that her relationship follows suit.
Miles wakes up and hurries putting his clothes on.  He rushes out to find Sephora in her garden.
Miles just stands and stares at his lovely wife.  He is slightly amused that she is ignoring him; pretending not to see him.
Miles reflects on the dream that he had last night of Sephora trying to console his child, alone.
He could not bear putting Sephora through that and he definitely could not imagine his life without her.
Miles calls her over, but just cannot seem to come up with any words to excuse his sorry behavior regarding the pregnancy.
All Miles can manage to do is pull her close and whisper in her ear, “til death do us part…I’ll never leave you, just as I promised.”
Miles silently prays that Sephora can feel the meaning in his words…
…and this beautiful angel pulls him close and he knows that he is forgiven.
Miles just cannot figure out what he has done right in his life to deserve a woman like he has in Sephora.  Sephora is thinking the same thing about him.
 “You look beautiful babe.”

Miles reaches out to touch Sephora’s tummy, but stops and looks up at her as if asking her permission.  “Go ahead, this is your child too,” she says with a smile.
“My goodness, look how much you’ve grown,” Miles says half to Sephora and half to his unborn child as his hand makes contact.
Miles feels the need to explain why he got home so late last night.  He tells about the overtime.  Sephora tells him that she thought that he was gone for good.
Miles explains that he was stressed out and not ready to face her.  He admits to being afraid.

“That’s ok babe,” Sephora answers, “although we were apart, we were sharing the same feelings.”
Miles could never stop loving Sephora.
Miles picks up his guitar and starts playing and Sephora picks up her sculpturing tools. Once again, Sephora and Miles are side-by-side doing what they love.
